Terms of service

Terms & health disclaimer.

These terms form an agreement between you and Caroline Chen ("we", "us", "our"), the operator of wellnessguidechina.com and the trade name "Wellness Guide in China". By using this website or engaging us for wellness or healthcare guidance, you accept these terms.

1. Non-clinical service

Wellness Guide in China provides research, administrative coordination, English-language communication support, logistics, and on-site accompaniment. The service is non-clinical. We do not provide diagnosis, medical or wellness advice, treatment recommendations, prescriptions, interpretation of test results, or emergency care. All clinical decisions remain between the patient and licensed clinicians.

"Wellness guidance" means comparing wellness and healthcare pathways, helping the patient prepare for clinical conversations, and arranging the right support. It is not a substitute for professional medical, mental health, or allied health advice.

2. No wellness, clinical, or outcome guarantees

We do not guarantee the availability of any specific institution, clinician, appointment, treatment, cost, wait time, or outcome. Wellness and clinical decisions are controlled by third parties (hospitals, clinics, licensed clinicians, regulatory bodies) and can change without notice. The illustrative cost calculator and any examples on this site are not quotes, recommendations, or guarantees.

3. Independent status

The service is independent and patient-paid. Institutions shown on this website are examples of Beijing wellness and healthcare resources. Their inclusion does not indicate affiliation, endorsement, partnership, guaranteed access, or suitability for a particular patient.

4. Booking, payment, and cancellation

A service engagement becomes binding only after a written confirmation that specifies the scope, timeline, fees, and cancellation terms. Unless a different schedule is agreed in writing, the following default schedule applies:

Medical, wellness, and clinical fees charged by hospitals, clinics, or licensed clinicians are separate. Travel, accommodation, meals, and personal expenses are not included unless explicitly confirmed in writing.

5. Sensitive information and consents

You agree to provide truthful information about your health history, current conditions, allergies, and medications that are relevant to the service. When a service engagement requires sensitive health information, a separate consent process will explain what is collected, why, and how it is stored. The terms of the privacy notice apply in addition to these terms.

10. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of the website or a service engagement will not exceed the fees actually paid by you to us for the relevant engagement.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws applicable at the place of business of Caroline Chen, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. We will first attempt to resolve any dispute informally. If that is not possible, the dispute will be submitted to the competent court at that same place of business, unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country gives you the right to bring proceedings in your own courts.
